ALKOMED is an ISO 9001:2000 certified company, committed to the consistent provision of comprehensive, professional electro-mechanical engineering services in the whole range of engineering projects for both small and large governmental, corporate, industrial and private clients. Its turnkey operations include the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of a diverse range of electrical and mechanical services and engineering projects.

Each stage of every project is managed by an exclusive, dedicated team of professionals specialised in the required technical discipline, who ensure that each project is completed and handed over on time, safely and to internationally accredited quality standards.

History

Following three years of initial operation as the mechanical and electrical division of Alko Construction Company, ALKOMED was formally incorporated in Bahrain as an independent joint Bahraini – Cypriot company in 1978, and has maintained a continuous operational presence in Bahrain ever since. The founding shareholders of ALKOMED (Al-Alawi Factories of Bahrain and the Mastro Group of Cyprus) remain unchanged to this day, and continue to provide the support and guidance on which ALKOMED’s success has been built.

Initially specialising in power distribution cabling, overhead line and street lghting works, ALKOMED has steadily diversified and expanded its operations to encompass the full range of electro-mechanical engineering services provided today.

ALKOMED has consistently maintained a policy of steady growth and diversification and has added to its operational portfolio in reaction to market needs and developments. In parallel with the growth of the regional market and the increased and diversified scope of services offered, the workforce has expanded both in size and technical expertise to accommodate the diverse engineering requirements of the economy and industry in Bahrain.

Pre-qualifications

Holding a Grade 1 Electrical License, issued by the electricity authorities in Bahrain, and registered as a Grade A electro-mechanical contractor with Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, ALKOMED has an excellent track record, experience base and reputation that speaks for itself.

ALKOMED is pre-qualified and approved to undertake electro-mechanical project and infrastructure installations, including related works, for many statutory and governmental authorities as well as the major industrial, commercial and development companies in Bahrain.

ALKOMED is also accredited and pre-qualified by all major consultants and engineering practices in Bahrain for the full range of electro-mechanical services provided, and is pre-qualified for its specialist HV power cable testing services throughout the GCC.
